Memories have long lives. They survive in the bones. Our cellular memory is residential in our bodies. Memories can be buried so deeply they sleep, unbidden. Or they can be called forward for us to take another look. These remembrances are unattached to time or space crisscrossing via lives of ancestors.
Our brain also keeps its own set of records stored in files sorted by linear time. They may pop up out of habits of thinking, playing over and over like something on replay, stuck in a groove, so to speak. Humans think over 60,000 thoughts daily and mostly the same ones again and again. A boring script.
If you have seen photos of ancient ruins or perhaps visited sacred places, you’ve most likely had a felt experience of ‘old’ memories. Even photos of more recent occasions like we’re seeing in the media celebrating fallen veterans from multiple wars emanate an energy that reaches out to spark a remembrance. Collective groups of people bring forward shared memories. Call them out if you’re brave! Wisdom will respond to you.
